Dynamic Image Wavetable Synthesizer - VST3 Plugin

Transform Images into Sound with Differrent Sonic Possibilities

Introducing Dynamic Image Wavetable Synthesizer, a VST3 plugin that turns any image into a playable wavetable instrument. By simply dragging and dropping an image onto the plugin’s interface, you can generate wavetables dynamically, opening up a world of experimental and evolving sounds.

TugiSynth v 1.2.0 Update – Enhanced Control, Richer Sound

We’re excited to introduce a major update to TugiSynth, packed with powerful new features, critical fixes, and workflow refinements!

🚀 New Features & Improvements

1️⃣ Intuitive Mouse Interaction
TugiSynth now offers hands-on control directly from the UI:

  • Left Mouse Drag → Adjust horizontal line position or circle radius
  • Right Mouse Drag → Move the circle freely in X/Y space
  • Mouse Wheel → Smooth zoom in/out
  • Middle Mouse Drag → Move the image in any direction
  • Right-Click a Parameter → Instantly focus modulation on it

2️⃣ Expanded Widening Effect

  • Dual Waveform Engine – A secondary, detunable line adds depth and movement
  • Stereo Imaging Control – Width scales per waveform for precise spatial placement
  • Detune for Extra Line – Fine-tune pitch for chorus-like thickening or subtle phasing

3️⃣ Refined Gain ADSR

  • More natural and responsive envelope behavior

🐞 Critical Fixes

  • Fixed GUI/DAW crashes when closing during automation (Reaper)
  • Eliminated unwanted peak/click audio artifacts

Key Features

1. Dynamic Wavetable Generation from Images

- Horizontal Scan Mode: Converts each horizontal line of the image into a wavetable, allowing for sharp edge waves

- Circular Scan Mode: Reads pixels in a circular path, creating seamless, smooth continuous type waveforms

2. Advanced Image Manipulation (Affine Transformations)

- Zoom, Rotate, Translate, and Skew the image in real-time to morph the wavetable structure.

- Pixel Interpolation Modes (Nearest Neighbor, Bilinear) for different levels of waveform fidelity.

3. Multi-Engine Synthesis for Fat, Evolving Sounds

- 4 Additional Oscillator Types (Sine, Saw, Square, Noise) for layering and thickening the sound.

4. Deep Modulation & Automation

- 4 LFOs with multiple waveforms (Sine, Triangle, Square, Random, Step) and tempo sync.

- 4 Envelopes (ADSR) for precise control over dynamics and modulation.

- Dedicated Amp & Filter ADSR for shaping volume and filter cut-off independently.

- Right-clicking the mouse goes directly to the corresponding control line of the modulation screen.

-Shift + mouse drag on tune slider makes -+12 tone discretes update

5. MIDI Control & Expression

- 4 MIDI Mod Sources: Velocity, Aftertouch (Pressure), Mod Wheel, and Random.

- Oversampling Options for aliasing-free high frequencies.

Why This Plugin?

  • generate wavetables from photos, abstract art, or even screenshots.
  • Perfect for Experimental Music, Cinematic Scoring, and Glitchy Textures.
  • Fully Automatable & Performative: Ideal for live sets and evolving compositions.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please Read

Some Mac users mention that due to Catalina(also Big Sure and Monterey) security issue, Ableton and similar DAWs do not recognize TugImgSynth . DAW users (including Ableton) can bypass security steps if they trust me as a developer .

a)Before copying TugImgSynth to vst3 folder, open Ableton and do "Plugin Rescan."

b) after Rescan is finished, copy TugImgSynth to the corresponding vst3 folder.

c) Open the terminal(MAC) window and go to the vst3 folder and type "sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine TugImgSynth.vst3" and enter. (it can ask your password of your macos screen)

d) Do again Rescan on Ableton.

I did all steps in order and it worked, I hope it works for you too.

If you encounter a problem, you can send an e-mail to tugrulvega@gmail.com.
